Do's and Dont's of Best of the Best:
Please choose a nominee from the dropdown list in each category. This list is sourced from our database and it ensures that you select the correct nominee name. There are nominees that aren't yet in our database, so if you don't find your selection, type it in the “manual entry” box.

• For manual entries: If we can't verify the nomination, we eliminate it, so make sure you include correct name, spelling, etc.

• You don’t have to fill out every category and can leave blank the ones you don’t know.

• Please contribute to as many categories as you legitimately can - it helps get the best nominations on the ballot.

• Don't just go through this list and nominate yourself or your business to every category - we qualify nominations and delete those that don't meet the intent of the category.

• The nominations are a first round to make it onto the final ballot. These nominations do count as votes through this round and only the top 25 nominees in each category will make it to the final ballot to be voted on at the What’s Up Dig on May 14.

• We only count nominations from unique users. Even if you nominate the same business multiple times, it will only count once. The way to gain additional nominations is to get the word out and ensure your supporters also participate.

• You may submit up to 5 different nomination forms with either the same nominees or new ones. Evidence of ballot stuffing will result in disqualified forms.

• Please help us and don't submit joke nominations. It slows down the process for finalizing nominees and printing the ballot. If you absolutely must, it better be really funny.

What happens after the nomination period closes?

What's Up compiles the nominees and cuts down to the top 25 for the official ballot. We will publish the finalists online as soon as we can - it usually takes weeks after the nomination period closes. The official ballot is only available for voting on during the What's Up Dig - the official Best of the Best voting party. The Dig is scheduled on May 14 where each partygoer gets one ballot to vote on. Following the Dig we count the votes and announce the winners in our Best of the Best special issue in July.

If you're having problems with the form let us know. Rest assured that your nominations will be kept confidential. For questions/concerns, email secret@whatsuppub.com.
